Auto Shipping Guide
Guidelines for vehicle Transportation. - Decide on the auto transport mode you prefer. Different auto transport modes are Standard auto transport mode done by using open car carrier and the other one is the closed car transporter which protects your vehicle from all kinds of weather disasters. This mode is advocated by many as it better protects the vehicle.
- Preparing Your Vehicle Alarm The alarm system should be de-activated.
- The vehicle must be washed for accurate inspection.
- Before the vehicle is relocated check it thoroughly whether you have left any valuable items or documents.
- Make sure that the gas in the vehicle is 1/4 th of the tank. This helps the customer to reduce the moving charges as the charges are imposed based on carrier weight.
- The customer has to remove or protect the parts that are loose. These items may include ground effects, spoilers, fog lights or wide mirrors, and the antennae.
Moving Plants and Pets
- Before packing the plants, you need to destroy the pests on them. Then pack the plants in a black plastic bag with bug/pest ‘strip' or conventional flea collar or bug powder. Then close the plastic bag and place it in a cool climate for one whole night. This destroys the pests on the plants or in the soil.
One Day before the Move - Collect some cardboard containers. Put the plants in the container surrounded by a wet packing paper or a news paper. Cushion the leaves with a paper and pack with a layer of wet paper on the top of the container as the plants need some moisture. If you cannot carry the plants, you can cut a stem and store in a plastic bag wrapped with a wet paper or towels around them.
On The Move Day - Write "DO NOT LOAD" on the boxes that contain plants to avoid moving them by truck mistakenly. Then place the boxes in your car for moving.
- Parking the Car
- Do not forget to park your car in a shaded area in the summer and a sunny spot in the winter.
- As soon as you reach the new home, unpack the plants immediately with immense care. Then allow them to grow in mild sunlight.
- Cats are more attached to the surrounding environment rather than to people. Before you relocate a cat, it needs proper care provided with its familiar items and scents. This process helps the cat to easily adapt to the new surroundings.
- Moving with dogs is easier than cats. After the move, take the dog for a walk immediately and help it get acquainted with the new environment. Teach the dog about its limits regarding the new streets and traffic.
- If you want to move a pet, you need to confine it to its favorite possessions such as its room, blanket, bed and toys. This helps the pets avoid running away from the house. The pet must be provided a comfortable living space at the new home. Take care of your pet's routines such as feeding, exercise and playtime.
- Avoid feeding the pet before several hours of the drive. Put the windows open and lock the car if you want to leave the pet alone. And also do not leave the pet in the car locked for long hours.
- Looking to relocate your fish, then initially check for water dissimilarities at the place where you are moving. The fish may not survive if water at new location is entirely different. Check with the movers whether they move the fish with the tank. If they don't then transport the fish into a bucket (buckets circulate more air) or bags with water. Then send the water that is already in the tank, filters, décor with your tank.
- Again at the new home set the tank with old water and filters then reintegrate the fish after an hour. Now try to change the water gradually and let your fish adopt the new climate.
- In case of a long move, do not feed the fish for 3 days prior to the move so as to keep the waste down whilst they are being transported.
- Immediately after reaching the new home, set up the tanks and add water from your containers and make necessary arrangements like heaters, decors, filters and others. Let the water reach room temperature as soon as possible and then float the bags of fish into the tank.
- Now release the fish after 15 minutes approximately and turnoff the lights for a day. Then on the second day you can see the fish queuing at the top of the tank for a feed.
- A fish mover can also be hired to take care of entire move.
